I was wrong, you don't pay Self-Employment tax on gross earnings. You pay it on gross earnings minus deductible expenses minus half your self employment tax. You might ask how you can know how much half your self employment tax is when you don't know your self employment tax to begin with, but that's when algebra is your friend. So anyway. I refigured. I just saved myself forty-five minutes of work a week.
