Turnabout
In trying to find some of that manipulative thinking that works so well for the Republicans, this one occurred to me: The Republicans are Pavlovian in their blind, single-minded support to whatever philosophy become vogue for the party, as dictated to them by the leadership. They don't really have any spine. Congressmen that were for balanced budget just four years ago are completely for the opposite now, it's like they don't even have minds of their own. No integrity, no moral consistency.So if they fight that they have to show it by going "against the grain".
It isn't perfect, but it's something of an example...
