Hate Crimes
Yeah, after thinking about it for a while, I think I'm pretty much opposed to hate crimes legislation. It's the action that is illegal, not the thought. The rationale behind hate crimes legislation is often attractive, but the problem is there isn't a clear place to shore up the slippery slope that leads to legislating thought. Deriving intent is hard to prove, and it's not long before you get witch hunts.
