GOP Tries To Throw Out Oregon Ballots

MyDD :: New Republican Shenanigans in Oregon The Republican Party is trying to throw out hundreds of thousands of ballots in Multnomah County because voters didn't include a xerox of their drivers license inside their ballot envelopes.

The lawyers behind it? O'Donnell and Clark. Clark is the lawyer who was on Koin 6's Gay Marriage Panel. Funny, Koin 6 didn't identify him as the law firm representing the Oregon Republican Party and the Bush-Cheney 2004 re-election campaign.

Clark has been working with the Defense of Marriage Coalition from the beginning, being the legal face of its lies, distortions, and deceptions.

I find it funny that the Coalition which Clark represents has a whole "I will not be redefined" campaign about young people -- I guess they are fine with young people asserting their self-definition, but not their right to vote.

What this really says to me, frankly, is that the DOMC believes that Measure 36 just might lose. And since gay marriage is most accepted among young people, and liberal people, they've decided to try to kill off votes by young people in a liberal county.

What the ...? Since when did we have to include a copy of our DL in with the ballot? I've been voting in the vote by mail elections since they started, and this has NEVER been an issue.
