1. Netroots darling Dean announces he's running for DNC chair.
2. Hours later, Joe Trippi announces he endorses Netroots darling Simon Rosenberg.

Trippi's attempted spin:
"No, it's not about Howard, it's not about opposing him. I think Howard Dean should run for -- if he asked me for advice, he doesn't do that these days -- but I'd tell him to run for the U.S. Senate, to run for President in 2008 if he wanted to, I think he's got a lot of assets. But I think this is, right now, about building this party....
